Police investigating a reported serious assault in Plymouth are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation between two women, with one of them sustaining injuries while in the garden of a property, in Taunton Avenue, in Whitleigh, at around 2pm on Saturday 23 October.

The injured woman required hospital treatment.

There were also reports of an altercation in the street, near the junction with Budshead Road, during which a vehicle was flagged down and drove a woman from the scene.

A woman in her 20s from the Plymouth area has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, criminal damage and possession of a class A drug and has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
