North Celebrates 5th Girls Golf State Title In 7 Years With Virtual Celebration

Another year..

Another state champion crowned right here in the tri- state.

The north girls golf team led the pack on day one of the state tournament..

And on day 2..

They never let up.

This is the programs 5th state title in the last 7 years..

And with the dynasty growing..

The school honored these young women with a special virtual assembly to recognize the team's accomplishment .

It was a rally special weekend because especially from last year we didn't finish exactly how we wanted to.

Coming back as a redemption is really special.

We're very proud of what we have done.

I looked up at the wall when i walked in here today.

There are 6 banners up there that are state champions, and we have 5.

Because we are going to add another today.

In golf, there are pars, and there are birdies.

There are bogeys and there are double bogeys and life is like that too.

There are bunkers, there is sand, there is water that you have to, i guess you might say move around, go over which ever.

There's rough which is sometimes tough to get out of.

But the thing that makes it most important is that you do what you know how to do , you stay the course and you finish strong.

Coming down the stretch we were all extremely nervous because we had been told that it was close and i think we all just kind of pulled it together and when we started seeing that we were getting some birdies down the stretch it was awesome because we felt that relief that we were finally going to win again.

It was really great to just finish it off with a hole in it was really great and whenever we found out that we had won it was just like this big weight had been lifted off our shoulders because we had been stressing the whole day and to finally know that we had won was amazing.
