Chancellor defends government's U-turn over DP World

Chancellor Rachel Reeves says “conversations” between the government and DP World took place over the weekend so the company did not pull out of their one billion pounds investment in the Thames Gateway project.

It comes after reports the P&O Ferries owner was set to shelve the announcement over calls from Transport Secretary Louise Haigh to boycott its subsidiary.
