Adrien Nicholas Brody is an American actor. He is known for his portrayal of Władysław Szpilman in Roman Polanski's war drama The Pianist (2002), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor at age 29, becoming the youngest winner in the category. He also became the second American male actor to win the César Award for Best Actor for the same film. For his role as a Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the United States in The Brutalist (2024), he won a Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and received his second nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor.
