Stuttgart hints radical electric flagship could be revealed as part of EQ strategy update later
Mercedes-Benz will detail the next stages of its transition to full electrification later today, and is likely to reveal its landmark Vision EQXX concept car.
Described as "a symbol of our ambition to create the most efficient car", the EQXX has been previewed as a futuristic and heavily streamlined design study which could offer heavy clues as to what to expect from future Mercedes EVs.
Aside from revealing the latest preview image, Mercedes has yet to confirm any technical details. Previously, it suggested the EQXX would have the "longest electric range" and "highest efficiency" of any EV yet produced.
The headline claim made of the prototype at a strategy conference last year was that it will be capable of travelling from Beijing to Shanghai - a distance of 750 miles - on a single charge.
As well as the likely unveiling of the EQXX, Mercedes promises "more exciting news" from today's strategy presentation, which will be predominantly focused on the expansion of Mercedes' EQ electric model family.
A variety of subjects will be covered, giving details on the technological, industrial and retail aspects of Mercedes' electric future.
It comes just six weeks ahead of the Munich motor show, where Mercedes is expected to reveal a number of high-profile new models and concepts.
