Join us on the ground at the biggest motoring event in Britain
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is back, and the event is as jam-packed as ever, with a plethora of reveals and debuts.
The event, which runs until Sunday (26 June), has given us a first look at some of 2022's most exciting cars and showcased the huge diversity of today's car parc.
Here’s our guide to the festival’s biggest unveilings.
*Alfa Romeo Tonale*
The Alfa Romeo Tonale, the firm's first SUV, has hit the track at Goodwood. Alfa's first new car under Stellantis is set to rival the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3, and this is your first chance to have a look around one in person in the UK.
*Alpina B4 S Gran Coupé*
Buchloe-based tuner Alpina has shown off its upcoming B4 S Grand Coupé at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This powerful four-door has the potential to be the ultimate sleeper car, packing 488bhp and 538lb ft of torque.

*Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75*
A tribute to the 1975 Tour de Corse rally, the limited-edition A110 Tour de Corse 75 has taken on Goodwood's hill climb. It can be spotted by its unique exterior, inspired by the original A110 that came second on the rally behind a Lancia Stratos HF. Underneath, it uses the same 296bhp 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine as the existing A110 GT and A110 S. Just 150 will be made, and just five are coming to the UK.

*Aston Martin V12 Vantage*
Aston Martin gave a first full dynamic debut to the upcoming V12 Vantage as it frantically sped up a damp Goodwood hillclimb. This final V12 Vantage comes with much more potency than any of its predecessors, adopting the twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 from the DBS Superleggera. All 333 examples are already accounted for.

It's a new range-topper for Crewe's coupé, which brings the stiff chassis and throaty W12 motor of the Speed, but with an extra dose of luxury appeal courtesy of Bentley's bespoke division. Expect a price tag comfortably clear of £200,000...

*BMW M3 Touring*
We've finally got to see the estate-bodied BMW M3 Touring as the German car maker pulled the cover off the long-awaited model on Thursday. It was revealed as part of BMW's 50th anniversary celebrations for its M performance division and features the same turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine as the M3 saloon, which boasts 473bhp or 503bhp in top-flight Competition form. It will therefore be one of the most potent and fastest estate cars in the world.

*BMW M4 CSL *
The M3 Touring isn’t the only highly anticipated performance model from Munich to tackle the hillclimb. The limited-run BMW M4 CSL showed off its stripped-back mechanicals and pumped-up powertrain. With 542bhp and 479lb ft, it’s the most powerful M3 or M4 ever built and arrives exactly 50 years after the legendary 3.0 CSL was launched.

American start-up Czinger is hoping that its 1233bhp 21C hypercar will be a game-changer. Having already set the production car lap record at Laguna Seca, Czinger is hoping that its 3D-printed supercar will turn heads at its UK debut.
*Ferrari 812 Competizione*
The Festival of Speed is our first chance to see Ferrari’s newest special-edition V12 super-GT in action. It has 819bhp on tap, and with it all being sent to the rear wheels, expect to see some very smoky burnouts indeed.

The latest model from Ferrari’s Icona series of limited-production cars finally made its UK debut at the Festival of Speed. With a naturally aspirated V12 packing 829bhp, this hypercar is certainly one to keep an ear out for: it’s one of the best-sounding road cars at the event.

*Fisker Ocean*
Following a public debut in Barcelona in February, the electric Fisker Ocean SUV will rival the Audi Q4 E-tron and BMW iX3 when it goes on sale from the end of 2023. Fisker claims a range of up to 350 miles, with a 0-62mph sprint of 3.6sec in its most powerful guise.

*Ford Ranger Raptor*
The new Ford Ranger Raptor actually broke down on the startline at the Festival of Speed, before powering up the track later in the day on Thursday. It's a good thing it was fixed, as Ford could display the model's huge power boost, with the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine in the previous model being replaced by a muscular 3.0-litre petrol V6. Power now stands at 284bhp and it has 362lb ft of torque. The model has also received an extensive redesign heavily influenced by the US-only Ford F-150 Raptor.
*Genesis Electrified GV70 *
We first saw the Genesis Electrified G70 at the Guangzhou motor show in November last year, but it has appeared on the ground in the UK for the first time at this year’s Festival of Speed. Based on the standard Genesis GV70, the all-electric version is claimed to have a range of around 310 miles and has 482bhp on tap.

*Hennessey Venom F5*
If the 270mph Hennessey Venom GT of 2011 somehow wasn’t quite mad enough for you, the new Venom F5 should satisfy your cravings. With 1817bhp on tap, this American hypercar will break the 300mph mark one day, Hennessey hopes – although it won’t quite be going that fast at Goodwood.
*Hispano Suiza Carmen*
Spanish firm Hispano Suiza has been revived only recently, bursting back into life with a 1005bhp electric hypercar. Just 19 of these £1.3 million EVs will be made. It was a dynamic debut for the uniquely-styled model at the Festival of Speed.
*McLaren P1 Spider*
The Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari both received convertible variants, but the final member of the hypercar holy trinity - the McLaren P1 - never became a roadster. That’s where engineering firm Lanzante comes in: it has built a drop-top P1, with the help of its original designer.

*Jaguar F-Pace Edition **1988*
This limited-run version of Jaguar’s roaring V8 super-SUV will make its world debut at the Festival of Speed. With just 394 examples of it set to be produced, Goodwood might be the only place where you will ever see one of these purple beasts.
*Kia EV6 GT*
The new Kia EV6 GT is the brand’s most powerful model yet, and it's a true grand tourer with a high degree of versatility, according to the firm’s development guru. Taking to the hillclimb as it makes its UK debut, the new range-topping version of the crossover features a dual-motor powertrain with combined outputs of 577bhp and 546lb ft. That's sufficient for a 0-62mph time of 3.5sec and a top speed of 161mph.
*Koenigsegg Gemera*
It's another dynamic debut, this time for Koenigsegg’s radical four-seat hyper-GT. Its modest mechanicals are impressive: a tiny 2.0-litre three-cylinder engine produces a whopping 600bhp, while electric motors help bring the total power up to 1700bhp, meaning it’ll hit 60mph in just 1.9sec.
*Land Rover Defender 130 *
Solihull’s take on the limo-SUV is an eight-seater with luxury appeal and go-anywhere ability. Measuring 5358mm long overall, it is primed to take on the largest luxury SUVs on sale and is actually slightly longer than the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It's on display alongside the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, as Land Rover showcases its luxurious new range-topping 4x4 models.

*Lexus Electrified Sport Concept *
This is a big one: Lexus has given a public debut to its all-electric supercar concept that will serve as a successor to a new Lexus LFA. With a 2030 launch planned, production is still distant, but we might hear some technical figures at the show.
*Lotus Eletre*
A big moment for Lotus as it presented its first series-production electric car – and its first SUV, to boot – to its biggest fans. Luckily, with 592bhp on tap and super-slick aero-optimised body work, it should be quite easy for the Eletre to appease the keenest of drivers.

*Lucid Air*
This Tesla Model S rival from American start-up Lucid, priced from around £40,000, made its first ever UK appearance at Goodwood. It has a range of more than 500 miles, but its party piece is its acceleration: the Air can cover a quarter-mile sprint in as little as 9.9sec, making it the first electric saloon to break the 10sec barrier. Its maker adds that the Air can achieve this feat on a “consistent, repeatable basis”.

*Maserati Grecale*
Maserati’s Grecale will make its UK debut at the Festival of Speed. Designed to sit below the larger Levante, this small SUV has been a long time in the making and is definitely an SUV to keep an eye on at the event.

Maserati’s achingly pretty supercar spawned a convertible version last month, with a folding glass roof allowing drivers to take in the world around them. This 641bhp machine will attract a lot of attention as it races up the Goodwood hillclimb.
*Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupé*
Another German performance model receiving a UK debut is the tongue-twisting Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupé. It’s AMG’s first plug-in hybrid, with a mouth-watering 831bhp on tap. But that’s not all: torque has been seriously uprated to a ground-shaking 1082lb ft, too.

This electric saloon previews Mercedes-AMG's electric future and has made its public debut at Goodwood. This performance car will be the first AMG to sit atop the company’s dedicated AMG.EA platform.
*Mercedes-AMG One*
Touted as a Formula 1 car for the road, the 1049bhp Mercedes-AMG One is propelled by a turbocharged 1.6-litre grand prix engine mated to four electric motors. It’s the firm’s fastest-ever production car, with its 219mph top speed overtaking the 214mph Mercedes CLK GTR from 24 years ago.
*Noble M500*
It won’t be going up the hill, but the Festival of Speed will give you a chance to look around Noble’s new entry-level supercar. It's powered by a Ford V6 that produces 550bhp, and Noble is aiming for a starting price of around £150,000.
*Pagani Huayra R*
The track-only version of the Pagani Huayra has screamed up the hill at Goodwood on its UK debut. It has a naturally aspirated V12 that revs to 9000rpm, so you’re likely to hear this £2.2 million hypercar coming long before you see it.
*Polestar 5 *
The radical Precept luxury saloon concept has evolved into the 5, which – confusingly – is bigger than the 2 but sits lower than the upcoming 3 and 4. The 5 is an evolution of 2020's imposing Precept concept. As such, it has familiar coupé-esque proportions and a lengthy wheelbase that line it up as a rival to the Mercedes-Benz EQS. A prototype has made the journey down from Polestar’s MIRA engineering base to show what it can do on the hillclimb.

*Porsche Cayman GT4 E-Performance *
Another phenomenally powerful electric racer, the Porsche Cayman GT4 E-Performance produces a staggering 1072bhp from four electric motors. It’s based on the chassis of a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS, with other parts sourced from the Porsche 911 RSR GTE.
*Porsche 911 Sport Classic*
The Porsche 911 Classic is the latest revival into the firm’s heritage design collection, with retro design cues that pay homage to one of the company’s most famous and history models: the 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Its appearance at Goodwood is the model's international public debut.
*Porsche 928 by Nardone Automotive *
French restoration firm Nardone Automotive has publically revealed its take on the Porsche 928 at this year's Festival of Speed. Powered by a 400bhp V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the restomod also features carbonfibre bodywork and a plush interior with a premium sound system, Alcantara, Foglizzo leather and Apple CarPlay.
*Prodrive P25*
Banbury-based Prodrive handed a public debut to the P25, a performance restomod based on the Subaru Impreza 22B of the 1990s. We’ve only seen a sketch of it so far, which shows it looks almost identical to its inspiration. Most of the key changes come under the bonnet, which is home to a 2.5-litre flat-four engine producing 400bhp.
*Range Rover Sport*
Making its first public appearance just a few weeks after its official unveiling, the new Range Rover Sport is as radical an evolution as its full-size sibling. Straight-six, long-range PHEV and V8 power are on the roster for now, and an EV is just two years away. Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern said the latest model “redefines sporting luxury” and described it as “modern, relevant and progressive”. The range-topping model is the twin-turbocharged 525bhp 4.4-litre BMW-derived petrol V8, which can accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.5sec.
*Renault 5*
French car maker Renault has handed a UK debut to its new electric car, which revives the name of the famous 1970s supermini, as it gears up for a market launch in 2024. Priced from around £18,500, the new Renault 5 is part of a major new plan to revive the French firm's fortunes. Renault said the concept, on display all weekend, gives a new twist on the original.

*Rivian R1T*
EV start-up Rivian has been making waves in its native US with its distinctive R1T pick-up truck. This electric load-hauler made its UK debut on the Goodwood hill, and despite its size, it was far from slow. It has 835bhp on tap and will hit 60mph in just 3.3sec.
*Singer Turbo Study*
Singer’s latest restomodded Porsche 911 gained a world debut at Goodwood. Inspired by the famed Porsche 930, this turbocharged classic will have 450bhp on tap below its carbonfibre bodywork.
