1971 was a disastrous year for the pony car market over at Mother Mopar’s. The Dodge Challenger and the Plymouth Barracuda were nosediving into a free-fall toward their demise that followed in 1974. It was also the last year for the 426 Hemi – or for any other big-block motor, for that matter. And it also marked the last appearance of the convertible body style.
