In bid for Davos-like gathering, Semafor plans to bring at least 200 CEOs to Washington conference

The media group Semafor has visions for creating an economic forum for the United States that rivals the annual event in Davos, Switzerland. Semafor says some 200 global CEOs have committed to attending its conference in Washington this April. It's the third year Semafor has done such an event, but leaders say interest among corporate leaders has been super-charged by the election of President Donald Trump. Semafor says it is hoping some Trump administration officials join to make the event more newsworthy. The series of meetings and discussions led by Semafor journalists is scheduled to take place April 23-25.
