Asian shares mostly rose Wednesday, as regional markets continued to watch President Donald Trump’s latest tariff escalation. Benchmarks rose in Wednesday morning trading in Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Investors remained uncertain about what the impact of Trump's tariff policies might be. The latest from Trump is his announcement of 25% tariffs on all foreign steel and aluminum coming into the U.S. Wall Street held relatively firm on Tuesday. Movements in the bond market were likewise modest. Treasury yields held steady after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said again that the Fed is in no hurry to cut interest rates. Coca-Cola's stock jumped following its profit report.
