It will also feature 'Hear Me Out'...

Alt-rock juggernauts *PIXIES *are making their first release in the fifth decade of their career next month with a brand new double A-side. After initially being aired in the UK during Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 Music show yesterday, the band premiered the music video for their latest cut 'Hear Me Out' on their official YouTube channel last night.

The wild west themed video, directed by Maximilla Lukacs, takes its stylistic cues from a riff by guitarist Joey Santiago that was inspired by the soundtracks of classic spaghetti westerns. The song was written during the recording sessions for last year’s LP ‘Beneath The Eyrie’, but in contrast to that record’s downcast mood 'Hear Me Out' is a far more upbeat affair, despite dealing with difficult times.

“‘Hear Me Out’ is about things not turning out the way we hoped, but knowing that it’s going to be OK regardless”, says bassist Paz Lenchantin. The song’s lyrics make no bones about this; “Got this problem / In my life / It's what this song is all about” goes the opening verse.

The limited edition 12” yellow vinyl, which on its flipside contains PIXIES’s rendition of T-Rex’s 'Mambo Sun', will be available from October 16th.

You can pre-order your copy from *the band’s website here*, and watch the official music video for 'Hear Me Out' below:
