A new petition from fans urges authorities to look again at post-Brexit touring fees.
With Boris Johnson's Brexit deal set to hit the UK parliament this week, authorities are scrambling to look over the possible consequences of our EU exit.
For the music industry, the news looks stark, with the possibility of new visa fees for UK artists touring across Europe.
The latest advice from the *Musician's Union warns that "no detail"* is available to allay those fears.
*A petition has been launched* to get the matter debated in parliament, and it's had an explosive response.
With all manner of musicians and arts figures showing support, it reads:
"We would like the UK Govt to negotiate a free cultural work permit that gives us visa free travel throughout the 27 EU states for music touring professionals, bands, musicians, artists, TV and sports celebrities that tour the EU to perform shows and events & Carnet exception for touring equipment."
More than 150,000 people have signed it in 48 hours - *get involved* and make your voice heard!
A petition seeking Europe-wide visa-free work permits for touring bands and artists
10,000 signatures means that the government would have to respond. 100,000 would mean it would be considered for debate in Parliament
