Sharmila on National Award win for Gulmohar

After 'Gulmohar' won the Best Film National Award 2024, Sharmila Tagore expressed her immense joy and honor. Overjoyed, she immediately called director Rahul and then Manoj, maintaining close contact with the team despite the film's release. Tagore noted that the win is particularly meaningful for Rahul, as 'Gulmohar' is his debut film, and this recognition is a significant achievement for him. She also highlighted the film’s award for Best Dialogues, reminiscing about the joy of delivering those lines and working with Amol Palekar. She extended heartfelt thanks to the National Film Awards 2024 jury and the Government of India, reflecting on the ongoing love and appreciation 'Gulmohar' has received. The film, which also features original music by Siddhartha Khosla and stars Simran, Suraj Sharma, and Amol Palekar, centers on the Batra family’s emotional journey as they move out of their long-time home.
