Goa governor PS Sreedharan Pillai visited 100-year-old freedom fighter Libia Lobo Sardesai, congratulating her on receiving the Padma Shri for her contributions to India's freedom struggle. In 1955, Sardesai co-founded an underground radio station, 'Voz da Liberdade,' to rally against Portuguese rule in Goa. Reflecting on her efforts, she humbly downplayed her role, crediting God's grace. The governor praised her dedication and the significance of her recognition. Sardesai and her late husband, Vaman Sardesai, played key roles in Goa's liberation.
