Texas Faces Growing Electricity Needs

Texas used a record amount of electricity on Tuesday, the Electric Reliability Council has reported, noting that the data has yet to be made official after calculating meter readings. Bloomberg said in a report on the news that the record was driven by higher demand for air conditioning amid August temperatures.
