First LNG cargo loading from the new gas project offshore Senegal and Mauritania in West Africa is expected within weeks, a junior partner of the project operator, supermajor BP, said on Monday. The BP-led Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project achieved first LNG production earlier this year, its project partner Kosmos Energy said in its 2024 earnings release today. “The first LNG cargo is expected later this quarter, with an LNG tanker currently standing by the Hub Terminal ready for loading,” Kosmos Energy added.
