Police are appealing for information about a serious four-vehicle collision this morning, Friday 22 January, during which a man sustained life-threatening injuries.

Two cars – a black BMW and a white Vauxhall Mokka – a van – a silver Renault Traffic – and a Kawasaki motorcycle, were involved in the collision which occurred at around 6.25am on the A388 at St Mellion.

As a result of the collision, the three occupants of one of the vehicles, all men from the Plymouth area, were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment. A man in his 20s, sustained life-threatening injuries.

The rider of the motorcycle was also taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Ambulance, air ambulance and fire service crews attended alongside officers from the Roads Policing Team. The road was closed while officers conducted a forensic examination of the scene. Officers would like to thank people for their patience.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses of the incident, anyone who has relevant dashcam footage, or anyone saw the BMW in the area prior to the collision.
