Police were notified by HM Coastguard of an incident on board a fishing vessel some 50 miles off the Cornish coast at around 7.50am on Saturday 6 February.

The incident resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man from the Torpoint area.

A second male crew member was taken to hospital in Treliske with minor injuries and was later discharged.

The families of those involved have been informed.

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident.

Police enquires, assisted by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), are continuing on behalf of the coroner.
