Officers investigating reports of an assault in Plymouth are appealing for witnesses.

The incident is reported to have taken place on Sunday 30 May between 00:00am and 00:30am inside The Brewery Tap pub in Stonehouse.

The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries to his knee following a serious assault.

The victim was assisted at the scene by two members of the public and was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for his injuries.

Police are appealing to hear from anyone who was in the pub or in the immediate area at the time of the incident and has any information which may assist the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference number CR/045004/21.
