Serious injury collision, Torquay

At 15:36 hours on Thursday 25^th November 2021, Police were notified of a road traffic collision involving a Volkswagen Bora and a pedestrian on Queensway, Shiphay, Torquay near the junction with Ben Jonson Close (OSGR 289940, 064819).


South West Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident. An 11-year-old pedestrian was located at the scene with significant head and pelvic injuries. The casualty was initially taken to Torbay District Hospital before being transferred to Bristol Children’s Hospital for specialist treatment.

Queensway was closed for seven hours while Police investigated this collision.   


Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses, particularly with dashcam of the collision, to come forward quoting log 0530 of 25^th November 2021.
