Increased Stop And Search Powers Brought In Following Leeds Stabbing

Increased stop and search powers have been put in place temporarily in part of Leeds city centre Leeds to keep communities safe after a man was stabbed and seriously injured in an incident last night.

At 8.30pm yesterday, police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of males and females at the outdoor market at Kirkgate Market, in George Street, Leeds.
Officers attended and found three men with injuries. A 43-year-old man had received machete type injuries to his arm.
