Man Who Raped Young Child More than 40 Years Ago is Jailed

A man who raped a young child more than 40 years ago has been handed an extended jail sentence at Leeds Crown Court.  

Sean Revere was aged in his 40s when he committed the rape on a female aged under 13 in 1983.  

The incident, which took place in the Moortown area of Leeds, was reported to police 35 years later, prompting an investigation by West Yorkshire Police’s Leeds District Safeguarding Team.
