Officer Charged with Serious Sexual Offences

A West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with off-duty serious sexual offences.  

PC Benjamin Bottomley, 21, who works in Kirklees District, has been charged with rape and sexual assault by penetration.   

The charges relate to offences committed against one victim, one prior to joining West Yorkshire Police and the other while he was a student officer. Both offences were reported to the police after he commenced employment with West Yorkshire Police.
