Appeal After Bus Passenger Seriously Injured in Wakefield City Centre

Police are appealing for any witnesses after a bus passenger was seriously injured in an incident in Wakefield.

There are currently road closures in place following the incident in the Kirkgate area of the city and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.

Police were called at 9:35am to Ings Road, Wakefield, to a report from the ambulance service that a number of people had been injured on a bus after the driver had braked sharply.

One passenger on the bus has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
