West Yorkshire Police Officer Charged With Misconduct in a Public Office

A West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office.  

Detective Constable Wasim Bashir, 54 years, based in Bradford District, has been charged with one count of misconduct in a public office in relation to a report of abuse of position for a sexual purpose.

It follows an investigation by West Yorkshire Police’s Counter Corruption Unit under the direction of the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

He is due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on 3 July.
