Tuesday 4 June, 2024Age Concern Hampshire is seeking volunteers to assist vulnerable older people, supporting them with form-filling tasks. As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older individuals, Age Concern Hampshire recognises the importance of providing practical assistance to those facing challenges in navigating paperwork and online form-filling processes. Form-filling can often be daunting for older people, particularly those who may be living alone, facing health-related issues or struggling to access vital information online. These tasks can pose considerable obstacles in older individuals accessing crucial services, benefits, and support. Committed to addressing these challenges, the charity’s information service provides tailored home visits to aid with form-filling, helping individuals who may feel overwhelmed or isolated by the digital divide. The form-filling service, led by volunteers assists isolated and vulnerable individuals, ensuring they receive the vital guidance and support required to accurately and efficiently complete essential forms and applications such as attendance allowance or blue badge applications. Yvonne Hiscock, Information Service Senior Coordinator, said “Our service would not be possible without the amazing dedication from our team of volunteers. We encourage anyone with a passion for helping others and a desire to make a difference to consider volunteering with us. Together, we can ensure that vulnerable older adults receive the support they need to lead fulfilling and independent lives.” Age Concern Hampshire are committed to building a more inclusive and supportive community where older people can thrive. Volunteering plays a pivotal role in enabling Age Concern Hampshire to provide invaluable support and even volunteering several hours can make a real difference.
