Coventry orchestra celebrates RNLI’s 200th anniversary with sea-themed concert

Monday 10 June, 2024Take a musical voyage across the ocean waves this summer at a charity concert from Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra. In support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (https://rnli.org) as it celebrates its 200th anniversary, this family concert will take place at St. Christopher’s Church, Coventry on 29th June 2024 at 3pm.

This special concert will feature a selection of sea-themed pieces, showcasing the timeless power and beauty of the ocean and those who sail the seas through music.

The program includes:Padstow Lifeboat by ArnoldBritish Sea Songs by WoodThe Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s cave) by MendelssohnSelections from South Pacific by RodgersSelections from HMS Pinafore by SullivanAnd many more!As part of the orchestra's commitment to community and charitable causes, all proceeds from the concert will go directly to the RNLI, an organization dedicated to saving lives at sea.

Now in its 106th year, the orchestra has been bringing music to Coventry since 1917 and is proudly sponsored by the Heart of England Cooperative Society. Last year the orchestra raised nearly £2000 for charities including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, UNICEF and Global Care.
