CMV Action Patron Paul Griffiths Awarded MBE in Kings Birthday Honours

Monday 17 June, 2024CMV Action is proud to announce that our Patron Paul Griffiths, Emeritus Professor of Virology at University College London, has been awarded an MBE on King Charles III's Birthday Honours List, for his contribution to Virology.Professor Griffiths spent his professional life in the field of medical virology. He has an international reputation and an unrivalled expertise in the effects of viruses on patients and their families. His book The Stealth Virus, brings medical virology to life and is dedicated to those affected by CMV and those working to eliminate it.
This award recognises his research on CMV, prevention of CMV disease in transplant patients, the development of a new diagnostic test for congenital CMV and raising awareness of CMV infection through CMV Action.“I was surprised and delighted to be notified of the award which showcases the work of the whole research team over many years.
