Throughout the summer holidays, Butser is running two unique programs offering a fantastic blend of fun, learning, and adventure set in the picturesque South Downs National Park.
Warrior Camp: Summer Holiday Bushcraft Club
Running for two weeks, Warrior Camp is perfect for young adventurers aged 8-14. Children will learn how to survive in the wild and explore the life of young warriors from two thousand years ago, blending ancient challenges with modern materials to uncover the ingenuity of our ancestors. Your bold adventurers will learn fire-making, shelter-building, and survival skills, all while exploring the rich history of ancient warriors. On Friday afternoon, parents are invited to join us for a BBQ to see what the children have learned and witness them undertake their final exciting challenge.
Time Traveller Holiday Club: A Journey Through Time
For two weeks in August, the Time Traveller Holiday Club invites children aged 6-12 to step back in time and explore different historical eras each day. Activities include crafting clay pots, grinding wheat, trying out ancient weapons, and engaging in traditional games. Highlights include themed days such as Stone Age Survivors, Bronze Age Builders, Iron Age Inventors, Saxon Storytellers, and Roman Rebels, with special sessions led by experts from the University of Reading’s Ancient Schoolroom project. Your valiant time travellers will come home with imaginations ignited by stories from the past!
Flexible and Affordable
Parents can book individual days or opt for a full week of activities, with flexible drop-off and pick-up times to accommodate busy schedules. Camps are affordably priced from £40 per day or £160 for a full week, offering great value with one free day included. All camps are run by knowledgeable and experienced educators who are DBS checked and First Aid trained. To fit in with busy schedules, Butser offers flexible drop-off and pick-up between 9-10am and 4-5pm, with the main activities running between 10am-4pm.
