Vast plumes of Sahara Desert dust that traverse the Atlantic can suppress hurricane formation and influence weather patterns in North America. However, these dust plumes can also result in increased rainfall and potentially greater destruction when hurricanes make landfall, according to a study published on July 24 in Science Advances. The research uncovers a previously unknown connection betwee
