Nicola Sturgeon set to appoint new Lord Advocate to advise on referendum bill

Lord Wolffe, the Lord Advocate, is set to resign which means that the First Minister will appoint a new legal adviser who will rule on the competence of any referendum bill she brings to Holyrood.
