I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been slammed after announcing that convicted abuser Boy George will be one of the contestants.

The popular ITV reality show announced its lineup last night (1 November) to surprised fans, since Boy George himself has previously declared that he wouldn’t appear on the show.

During an episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, Ant and Dec once asked him what his hit 1983 song “Karma Chameleon” actually meant, he replied: “It means I never have to do I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.”

Despite implying he was too rich to ever be paid to go on the show, according to the Evening Standard he is reportedly being paid £500,000.

However, other reports have claimed that he is entering the jungle with the “biggest deal in the show’s history”, at a whopping £879,000.
