As the seventeenth season of The Apprentice draws to a close, it's a wonder whether the show itself should follow suit? What was once an insightful look into the minds of the best and brightest, quickly spiralled into a breeding ground for the latest idiot grasping at their five minutes of fame, sacrificing the credibility of their business in turn. And unfortunately, this phenomenon does not elude other popular shows, all of which inevitably fall down a similar trap after many years in the hearts and on the screens of Britain. The grasp that repetition and implausibility can have on a series is detrimental and can easily turn any loyal devotee sour. Yet the possibility of a production house making lots of money is too great, even at the expense of their reputation; and thus, the cycle continues...
