Live updates as large fire at city industrial estate

Emergency services are in attendance at a huge fire at a city industrial estate. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews were called to Leeway Industrial Estate in Newport at around 7.45pm on Monday.A spokeswoman for the service said 16 fire engines are currently in attendance. She said: "We are attending a very large fire at Newport industrial estate. The incident was reported at 7.48pm and 16 appliances are in attendance."An eyewitness described the fire as "significant" and said he could see "thick black smoke billowing into the air". He said Gwent Police officers are turning traffic away from the site near Nash Road as emergency services tackle the fire.Live updates to follow.
