A situation which demands a boycott

Several years ago I had a most polite debate with the late Christopher Martin-Jenkins, one of the greatest cricket commentators of all time. It concerned mixing politics and sport, something he was opposed to. Being a supporter of the boycott of apartheid South Africa, the country of my birth, I disagreed. Denying white South Africans, particularly men, access to international sport was painful and contributed to the ending of apartheid.
