Harness racing returns to Vernon Downs for first event of 2020 on Wednesday

Dirtcar racing returned to thet- it'll be horse racing makingitsf harness racing at the "miraclem- race card and wilbe heldwithoutr the month of june - races at vernon downs will be on wednesdays and thursdays beginning at four p- m.

The track will host zweig memorial races for three- year old trotters - empire breeders classic races for three year old trotting colts and trotting fillies - and also several legs of the new york sire stakes this season.

Vernon downs owner jeff gural told newschannel two tonight that for the sake of those participating - he's ready to get things going.

Jeff gural: i'm excited for the horseman up there because i know that they are reallyhurtn feeding and taking care of thehy income.

For me personally, iam y lose money but i know thatthey p there and i'm happy to be able to help the horsemen up there.

Gural said the goal right now is to focus on get things rolling for participants and teams on the track - but eventually hopes to get fansbacy beginning tomorrow at four p-m.
