Visitors can expect some changes made by the staff to minimize the chance of contracting COVID-19.

The staff at science central is eager to welcome the fort wayne community back after being closed for three months.

Fox 55's jeremy masukevich shows us what community members can look forward to and what science central is doing to keep visitors safe.

Nat martin all of our science central staff are very excited about reopeningexecutive director martin fisher says the team at science central has missed interacting with visitors but has made the most of the time closed.lower third: martin fisher, science central executive director sot martin we have spent this time preparing various portions of the building painting, some repairs, we have been preparing for a variety of different programs, not just for the summer, but for the fall and upcoming school year.

Fisher says he has been communicating with other northeast indiana museums to minimize the chance of contracting covid-19 in reopening.sot martin we are practicing social distancing in the lobby and throughout the building.

We have stickers that are placed on the floors.

All of our staff is going to be wearing face coverings and we highly recommend that our visitors do as well.visitors can expect some additional changes as many of the high-touch exhibits will be closed until stage 5 of the indiana back on track plan.sot martin we are going to be closing off certain galleries and certain exhibits which are just much harder for us to clean and maintain safety for our staff and visitors.nat martin we will see how it goes as we get closer to stage five over the next few weeks.but that won't stop science central from providing new activities for the community to enjoy.lower third: kristen pelfrey, exhibit and facilities director sot kristen that is definitely a challenge with different areas being closed temporarily so we are adding different demonstrations throughout the day.exhibit and facilities director kristen pelfrey says visitors can look forward to their new traveling activity called flexibits.she hopes more demonstrations and new programming will fill the void for visitors who may be missing their favorite activity.sot kristen even though they may not be able to experience their favorite spot at science central they will be able to engage with demonstrations.

It's taken all of the departments here at science central to work together, collaborating to figure out how we can still be safe for our staff and visitors.in fort wayne, jeremy masukevich, fox 55 news science central will also be modifying their hours of operation temporarily.the museum will close from one to two each day to allow deep cleaning
