She breaks down the new guidelines for the tournament given to all coaches and players.

This weekend will be the first tournament weekend played here at u.s. cellular fields since the covid-19 pandemic began.

35 youth teams will be traveling from throughout oregon and even california to compete this weekend.

Another 12 teams for an american legion baseball tournament.

The city of medford says they're doing their best to follow oha guidelines and issued a detailed protocol for coaches, players, umpires and spectators to follow.

Everyone that comes to the tournaments must check in with the field supervisor at their field -- they will have to give their name, contact information and team -- this information will be used for contact tracing.

Entry and exit will have separate dedicated routes.

Only essential spectators will be allowed and children who are not playing are not allowed.

We expect there to be a high degree of cooperation because i think that most people know what's on the line here if this does not go well and people are not cooperative it jeopardizes the future tournaments thats only a glimpse at the guidelines in place.

During the tournament each field will be treated like its own separate facility with a maximum capacity of 100 people per field.

The city will have more staff working the tournaments to help with sanitation and to remind people of what the rules are.
