Again it's finally that time again in the wabash valley.

School sports are back.

But they may look a little different due to covid-19.

New 10's bri shackelford tells us more.

The i-h-s-a-a is now allowing high school athletics to start back up again.

With practices starting... there are concerns on how to keep your children safe.

I spoke with doctor eric pickrell today.

He's the medical director at "convenient care" in terre haute.

He says there are committees formed...dedicated to putting guidelines out in order to keep your child safe.

The committies, athletic trainers, and doctors are working with high schools in order to have a clean environment for athletes.

Everyone is following c-d-c guidelines as best as possbile to ensure safety.

Dr. pickrell says having the athletic trainers on the sidelines is a big part in keeping athletes healthy.

" that is there job is they're kinda looking out for some of these things, and they are able to identify it a little quicker to help us out.

Um, to make sure kids, people are being treated properly."

Properly."

Trainers will be looking out for symptoms such as coughs and headaches.

These "could" be symptoms of covid-19.
