Tenney to face Brindisi in November

Decision 2020....it's official....tenney- brindisi...part two...this fall.

Late this afternoon we learned claudia tenney has "officially" won the republican line after last month's primary.... she will challenge democrat incumbent anthony brindisi for the 22nd congressional district seat in november.

Her republican primary opponent, george phillips conceded the day after the primary...so it was just a wait for the official declaration.

Brindisi beat tenney by fewer than 2 percentage points in the 2018 election.

I caught up with both candidates just a short time ago on the phone as they start to gear up for november.

Claudia tenney: this is a critically important election, this seat in cny is going to have anyone in the country looking at it because its one of the top seats that republicans need to take back the house.

So its a binary decision its a very important election.

Anthony brindisi: my focus has been doing the job,there's been so much going on with coronavirus and making sure we get aid to small business owners and stimulus checks out to folks that need them, unemployment and so much more that has to be done.

Thats my focus right now.

Hopefully come november the virus continues to decline in ny and get to in person campaigning but in the meantime...we gotta stay safe.

Both candidates tell me they are looking forward to debating down the road.
