Convoy of Hope Helps People In Need

Story tonight.

Saturday morning, members of convoy of hope gathered at the ck newsome center to distribute items to people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Convoy of hope is a group of businesses, pastors, and non profits who got together and wanted to help the hurting people in evansville.

We started planning two years ago to do a large street fair with job fairs and other things.

Covid changed that and so now we're offering food to roughly a thousand families impacted by covid.

In order to conduct this distribution safely, volunteers were asked to mask up to prevent any potential spread of the coronavirus.

Everything comes prepackaged, shrink wrapped.

Everything is sealed from the factory.

We've got our workers wearing masks, we have sanitizer so everything is completely clean like you're getting it from sam's or walmart.

Though this is the first convoy of hope event in evansville, members hope to hold more here in the river city soon.

In evansville, some cities do a convoy of hope community event every single year.

This is the first event like this in evansville ever so after the fact we have to see do people want to support it in years going forward and if so we'd love to have more.
