Authorities looking for boat driver

Herkimer County Sheriff's Office is looking for more information in a hit-and-run boating accident that took place on Fourth Lake July 25.

The public regarding ahit y accident on 4th lake.

The incident occurred on saturday shortly after six p.m.

Sheriff's officials say a jet ski operated by a 15 year old male collided with a boat believed to be in the area known as the 4th lake sandbar.

The operator of the boat left the scene immediately after the collision.

The 15 year old male sustained injuries to his back and ankle.

The only description obtained for the suspect vessel is an approximately 20 foot white boat with a thick blue stripe that covered both sides.

The boat has an open top with a windshield, possibly a cuddy style model.

The operator is described as a thin white male.

The sheriff's office asks that anyone in the area of 4th lake on the date that may have any information to call 315-867-1167.

They also ask any camps on the shores that may have surveillance cameras in that area to please check the footage from the 25th or contact the sheriff's office with the information.
