Pete reunites with his owner, George
At a local store while visiting his grandparents.
7-year-old george hauser lost pete last saturday at a lafayette walmart with his grandparents.
After finding out he'd lost it his family asked for a little help from the community.
The tippecanoe county sheriff's office did a lot of work trying to find pete.
The sheriff's office posted it on social media and also worked with the local walmart and other organizations.
Pete was found in a dumpster.
After almost a week and several washes..
He was reunited with his owner, george.
George: "i was really, really, sad.
I'm just like give me pete now.
On emojis , i am just like i want pete now, give me pete."
Hauser family: "we've had some sleepless nights and some wondering.
"i woke up at 2 am in the morning."
We woke up to him asking the sheriff's had found him yet and now he's got him back."
George has had pete since he was 6- months.
George's father is on the waiting list to receive a kidney transplant and having pete brings him comfort as his father handles his sickness.
