Ana are election officials concerned about "vote-by-mail" this election season?

The shasta county office of elections says: it's not too concerned about "vote-by-mail" being impacted here in the area.

That's because the office of elections meets with the local post office before every election.

And there is more than one way for voters to send back their ballots.

People can drop them off at a ballot box or at the office itself.

The office of election says: in shasta county: more than 80- thousand people vote from home.

And more people have voted from home in shasta county than in a polling place in every election since 2005, so we know how to vote by mail and our voters know how to vote by mail and we here locally know how to handle ballots not casted at a polling place.

And because of the coronavirus pandemic: the shasta county office of elections will be requiring people to wear masks if they choose to drop off their ballots.

The office also says: it will all polling places will be open come election day back in may: governor gavin newsom signed an executive order that would send every registered voter here in california a mail- in ballot.

Those ballots will be sent to voters between the end of september and the beginning of october.
