You're taking a live look over madison county as the third and final district in the county is set to start the school year virtually tomorrow.
With students in the madison county school district depending on the internet, the state has a new program to help students adjust to virtual learning.
Waay 31's ashley carter joins us live at the madison county district office where she learned how families can get help when they need it most.
According to the district, every student has a device or chromebook and now they have several wifi options available both from the district and from the state.
One of those options is called the alabama broadband connectivity for students program.
It's gives students enrolled in the national school lunch program a wifi voucher to receive free internet access.
It's funded by 100 million dollars from the coronavirus relief and economic security act.
The district also has wifi available at each school and is handing out hot spots to students.
The district will also have 90 buses with wifi going around the county starting tomorrow as another option for students.
