Senator roger wicker and congressman trent kelly visited nautic star and spoke with nautic star's president about how the boating industry is right now.scott womack- president of nautic star boats "from a covid stand point we have actually seen increase in business of boating" scott womack is the president of nautic star boats and he says boating is a good way to social distance.
"and you get in a boat with the people that you live with and you can social distance from everybody."
Womack said the demand for boats are up right now and he had to hire more staff.
"we have been hiring and are still to fill the need."
Congressman trent kelly and senator roger wicker toured nautic star this morning and saw how the boats were made.
Congressman kelly said it was great to see people working hard to produce the boats trent kelly- congressman "producing products that are used all over the world and they are all made right here in mississippi."
Senator wicker said the increase in the demand for boats is good for the economy.
Roger wicker- senator "a very successful sector of the economy and it creates jobs right here in the heartland.
This is very good news for the economy."
Nautic star boats produces boats for all over the county from california to the east coast.
Womack told me his biggest buyers are in..."texas is a huge place for us, louisiana, mississippi, florida."
