Parents i spoke to want to know if more technical issues will pop up through out the beginning of the school yearand if they'll stop kids from progressing as much as they need to.

"it's been a challenge but we are just trying to stay patient and take it one day at a time."

Amanda estess called adjusting to madison county's virtual program, schools plp, difficult for her kids.

Parent/ amanda estess "with the assignments coming up, we are having a hard time finding them."

And when the district announced schools plp was down for a few hours friday morning...she worried.

Parent/ amanda estess "i'm afraid with all the issues they are having now, i'm afraid it may put them behind."

Breana coxwell's 4th grade son is on an individualized learning program--and says it's even more difficult for him to keep up with online work.

Breana coxwell/ parent "not only if it doesn't shut down, they are going to have a lot of issues as far as the children who need that extra help."

That's not the only problem... coxwell and fellow mom jessica mahan are trying to manage their own company called "thorn and bloom."

They say juggling jobs and school technical issues is time- consuming.

Breana coxwell/ parent "it's several hours of work."

Jessica mahan/ parent "we've just had to change our schedule basically every day."

Parents hope any problems with schools plp are worked out before the first nine weeks are finished.

Parent/ amanda estess "i'm just trying to stay patient with the school and teachers because i know this has been a real challenge for them."

The district says students attendance will be excused for today.
