It's been 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, and Girl Scouts throughout Oregon are marking the occasion in chalk.

Girl scouts of oregon and southwest washington are taking to their driveways to do a d-i-y project called chalk the vote chalk the vote is a way for girl scouts to show how they've learned about the history of voting rghtes in light of the presidential election this year, girl scouts are learning about their rights as women and as voters.

Even if they can't vote right now, it doesn't mean their voice is unheard.

Because in the past we weren't allowed to vote.

And we weren't allowed to do much.

Understanding the importance that voting is a right.

It's something that people from history, different movements have worked very hard to secure and it needs to be preserved and honored.

And by learning about it and doing things like this, it continues to engage them.
