BBB revokes accreditation from JoGoddess Hair

revokes accreditation from JoGoddess Hair, a popular Fort Wayne business.

The better business bureau has stripped a fort wayne business of its accreditation and is sending a warning out tonight to online shoppers.

Fox 55's brianna dahlquist has more on the social media backlash the company is getting.

On its website, jo goddess hair seems like a legitimate company for hair extensions.

But nichole thomas of the better business bureau is warning potential customers to not fall for the glitz and glamour.

"jo goddess hair has met all of the standards to be accredited but unfortunately, within about 10 to 15 days of getting their accreditation status, we began getting an avalanche of complaints."

Amber traylor, a college student from tennessee saw the popular hair company on instagram and placed an order in hopes of a new 'du.

Instead, after a month she got this.

"the package was completely empty.

When i got it, it had the wrapping that the hair would come in but there was no hair in it.

I reached out to the company and they said once it gets dropped off in the post office in indiana it's not our responsibility."thomas says the majority of customer complaints were identical.

"when we receive customer concerns and complaints and those that can't be resolved or a pattern of complaints, which is what we're seeing with jo goddess hair."

As of today, they've received 26 complaints of customers getting an empty package or not get their shipment at all.

Thomas says the company told her the product must have fallen out of the boxes which she says is highly unlikely."people all across the country and all across the world, there would be a lot of mailmen with wigs!"

Traylor wants potential customers to not fall into the hype of social media and think twice before they buy.

"i just saw that they had a big following base so i thought i could trust them but make sure you do your research!"
