The Salvadoran community is growing across the nation, but there is one city people can visit to truly immerse themselves in the rich culture.
Los Angeles is proudly home to the country’s only official artery that celebrates Salvadoran culture in all of its vibrancy and glory.
Many authentic Salvadoran shops, restaurants, and markets populate the area known as the El Salvador Community Corridor, located in the Pico-Union area of downtown Los Angeles.“The area where we walk -- it’s like being in El Salvador,” Los Angeles resident Elsy said.
While this area is the first designated Salvadoran city, Los Angeles is home to more than 400,000 Salvadorans -- the second-largest Hispanic population in the area.
