More Glenn Co. elementary school waivers getting green light

Glenn County remains in the most restrictive tier for reopening that status impacts businesses but also schools.

But the return of julia... the status of those waivers is rather positive.

Since glenn county is in the purple tier... schools like hamilton and mill street can apply for waivers to allow students back inside the classroom.

Glenn county health says cases have to be less than 200 per 100-thousand in the population for those waivers to be accepted.

For the past few weeks... 3 waivers have been on hold after the county saw a bit of spike.

Now the county is reporting less cases... meaning elk creek, hamilton and walden elementary schools can now reopen soon.

"and so will it be the kindergartners to second grade.

And we will kind of see how things are going with the schools and with the cases, and were hoping in just a couple of weeks we can open up to the other grades."

Garrison adds the most coronavirus cases are coming from the orland area.

Currently lake, capay and orland elementary schools are under review... if approved they have to wait two weeks to reopen.

Garrison also says this waiver process has to be obeyed by every school or they risk losing funding.
